This Orange, Ginger and Turmeric Smoothie is packed with vitamins B and C, potassium, and folate. The ginger and turmeric provide antioxidants, and anti inflammatory phytonutrients. Curcumin, the active component of turmeric has long believed to have medicinal properties including inhibition of cancer cells as well as protecting against Alzheimer's disease.
- 2 oranges, quartered and peeled
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 1 large or 2 small bananas
- 1 tsp turmeric, ground
- 1.5 cups plain yogurt
- Place orange quarters in blender with 1/4 cup of water. Blend until smooth.
- Add grated ginger, bananas, turmeric and yogurt.
- Blend until smooth.
